  1. I was engaged to a wonderful, smart, kind, beautiful woman last year and called it off. The difference was our faiths. I grew up Christian but is was sort of a side dish for me…A box to check off. But for her it was the center of her being. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, and was even glad I had a "good Christian" woman…but as the wedding got closer, I became more and more panicked. It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but called it off. As time goes on, I feel better that I made the right choice, but it was very painful to leave her. I don't fully understand why that difference bothers me so much, still…but a phase I heard once sums it up as well as anything…we were just cut from different cloth.
